SUMMARY
Purpose and goals of the Toolkit
This project has been developed as key output of the project CLIMAX with main objective to empower pupils about CLIMATE CHANGE awareness through a STEM approach. Teachers will by following the Toolkit acquire the knowledge and competences to promote and propagate CLIMATE CHANGE awareness in their regular classes to pass these competences to pupils.
The Toolkit (Manual) is intended for use by teachers as practical tool to be taken in to the classroom as a teaching material for development of competences. The toolkit aims at providing a useful tool for educators, in order to make easier for pupils to understand the concepts related to Climate change through STEM experiments and games.
The toolkit will enable students to develop competences necessary to deal with complex issues and information to make responsible decisions on Climate change. The main topics covered by the Toolkit are:
- understanding main concepts dealing with Natural-geological processes
-understanding main concepts dealing with Solar energy radiation in environmental spheres
- understanding main concepts dealing with the importance of water
- understanding Climate change issues
Benefits for students by participating in the activities described in the Toolkit is to further develop their awareness on the importance of Climate change. Students will learn how to work with informations on Climate change, consider different opinions and points of view and explore their own values and norms. All these skills will help students not to be manipulated and to be able to make informed and responsible decisions concerning their future.
